Christmas Parade

Christmas Parade 2013!
Everyone was bundled up!

Ty waving!

And our street-sister Ellie watching too!

Thanksgiving 2013

We were able to travel to see Peter's sister and family this Thanksgiving!  Peter and Barb were able to run in the morning, as they have done in the past.  I decided to join them too in my first out-of-state run.  They ran the 10k and I did the 5k.

Our 'after' picture doesn't look that bad!

We had a fantastic meal and a little rest for Peter and Cort

Naps don't last long with these boys!

Ty likes to wear his hat and mittens all the time!

We also spent some time at Target.  Thank you to Barb, Eric, Heidi and Henry for running around with Ty!

Henry was his best bud!  He even built Ty a fort on the Pampers shelf!

I think Ty found his new ride!

Baptism

We were very thankful to have Cort baptized yesterday at church.  We have been blessed with an amazing little man!  He seems to have a lot of passion already!  When he is happy, he is very happy!! And when he hungry, he is very hungry!

We had a very joyous day together yesterday!!  The humorous part of the day was trying to contain Ty in church for 20 minutes!
He did well for the first songs, then came the prayer... the temptation to pull the keyboard cord was even more than the thrill of sitting with Papa.  After rolling on the floor a few times, we appeased him with a quick snack.

Once in front of church, Ty decided he no longer wanted to be carried and started yelling "No, No"
So I set him down....
which led to a brief moment of touching the top of the electrical outlet on the floor, then
"No, No, No"
then peak-a-boo from behind the ministers podium,
and he spotted the table with the fake thanksgiving food display.
Every time he pulled on the fake grapes, I would discretly remove his hand and he would yell
"NO, NO, NO"
Then he did sign language for "more" because he wanted those grapes:)

Many church members commented on how they appreciated the entertainment.

I guess we are just keeping it real folks!

Cort's special day

Ella in all her sparkly beauty

At least one is smiling and looking at the camera

Cort couldn't stop staring at Ella's sparkly headband!

Ella turned 6!

Ella turned 6 and had a dog themed birthday party!  She wore a dog shirt, had a picture of her and Riley on her cake, had dog balloons, had pictures of our guests' dogs, had her stuffed animal dog friends, and of course Riley joined the party!

Dog picture on her cake! She's pretty excited!

One of our 6 dog balloons!

Pictures of our guests' dogs in little dog houses and a few of Ella's stuffed animal dogs on the mantle, each with their own name.

 More stuffed animal dogs...

Even Ty wore a dog shirt!

After our dog birthday party, Ella and Eden had some fun on go-karts and playing a few games.  Then we went out for dinner where they sang a birthday song to her!  What a fun day!

Halloween 2013

 Halloween 2013

This is the best unassisted picture I could get of the kids.  And yes, that is Riley the Rufferee too!

Ella had on her "enchantress" costume (whatever that is??) until she went to her dad's and became a beautiful bride.

Cort is wearing the cow costume passed down from Ella and Ty.

And you can't forget Ty in his fireman outfit!  He loved carrying his pumpkin bucket around.

A few more pics from Pumpkinfest

I was thrilled to see how Ty sat and watched the parade!!

Memories

Ahhh, Memories!
I came across this photo and brought myself back to last year...

About a year ago we were surprised with the news that were were expecting another child so soon after Ty was born.

We never imagined having to special order this "Big Brother" onesie in
size 0-3 months to share our news!
Obviously Ty wasn't exactly thrilled about it!

Weekend away!

Peter and I went to camp for a weekend to do closing. This was my first closing trip and first time away from all my kids! Thank you to all friends and family that cared for them while we were gone.

The weather was warm and beautiful!  A wonderful thing since it has been known to snow in October there.

We also were able to spend some time with friends who were also there!

I think "man's best friend" is an understatement.

Then Riley goes in for a kiss

Another run...

Another run this year!
Ella did her kids run, and I attempted my run. It turned out to be my worst run ever, but my boys are worth it!  And made for an easy time to beat for next time!

Cort is 3 months!

Cort at 3 months!

You know you are a busy mom when...

You realize at 10pm that you were only wearing earrings in one ear

You have mastered the art of carrying 7 plastic bags of groceries in one arm, and a child in the other

You hear the name "mommy" 14 times in 15 seconds...and counting

Soccer

Ella is playing soccer for the first time.  The team is absolutely adorable! They all look eager to learn!

We made a second attempt to stay at our friends place.  Our first attempt resulted in a weekend stay at Devos! This time it went much better!  The weather was fantastic!  As the pictures show, we really didn't need to pack toys or coloring books.  Just our dog and his kennel.  Riley was the first to relax in his kennel, then Ty came in to join him.  And Ella just couldn't miss the fun!
Disclaimer:  No adults were responsible for the enclosure of the children. They did it on their own free will :)
